Liz Beck promoted to head of Cohn & Wolfe's U.S. consumer practice

New York, NY – January 24, 2012 – Cohn & Wolfe today announced that Liz Beck, EVP & NY Consumer Practice Leader, will move into a new role as Head of Cohn & Wolfe’s U.S. Consumer Practice.  In this position, she will build on the agency’s brand marketing heritage by developing best-practices and driving creative strategy for some of the world’s largest consumer brands.

For the past 12 years, Beck has been an integral part of the Cohn & Wolfe’s consumer practice, managing many of the company’s largest clients, including Colgate-Palmolive, JM Smucker, Panasonic and 3M. Her new remit will be to seek out, identify and define consumer branding opportunities from the agency’s existing and new client base, as well as to foster close partnerships with digital, strategy, insights and research counterparts.

Under Beck’s leadership, the consumer practice has doubled over the past few years. She also led the diversification of the practice into eight core specialties: packaged goods, food, automotive, sports, consumer electronics, retail, consumer health and spirits.

“Liz’s broad range of experience, marketing savvy and leadership has been integral to the remarkable success of our consumer practice,” said Donna Imperato, CEO of Cohn & Wolfe. “Over the last several years we have seen increased activity in the consumer marketing sector overall. With Liz in the lead, we are well positioned to continue on this growth path.”

Prior to joining Cohn & Wolfe, Liz spent 15 years with Shandwick, where she rose to the position of executive vice president.
